"ABBA’s legions of devoted fans will be delighted at the announcement of a collector’s edition, 7-inch vinyl single of their 1980 track from the Super Trouper album, ‘Happy New Year.’ The single will be limited to 3000 copies worldwide.

Released on 7 December by Polar/USM to mark the build-up to New Year 2019, the single will be pressed on white vinyl with unique artwork, and backed by the Spanish language version of the song, ‘Felicidad.’ To make it even more of an attractive item for ABBA collectors, a limited edition of the single is to be pressed to mark each new year on different coloured vinyl.
‘Happy New Year’ was written by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus during  a working holiday in Barbados. According to some fan sites, it had the working title ‘Daddy Don’t Get Drunk On Christmas Day.’ The track first appeared when the Super Trouper album was released as the group’s seventh studio album in November 1980.

With lead vocals by Agnetha Fältskog, the track was released as a single in a few countries at the time, notably Holland, Brazil and Portugal, but went on to greater chart activity in later years. The song became a top five hit in the group’s native Sweden in 2008 and again the following year, when it also reached the top five in Norway.
2010 saw ‘Happy New Year’ in the Swedish top ten once again, and in the era of streaming, like many other festive and holiday-themed standards, it reappears regularly on many charts around the world. In 1999, it attracted a cover by the Stockholm-based ABBA tribute quartet A*Teens, which also peaked at No. 4 in Sweden and reached No. 12 in Denmark.
Benny Andersson revisited the melody for his September 2018 album Piano, performing the track as a slow piano solo. The album topped the Swedish chart for four weeks, and reached the top 20 in the UK, Norway and Australia."

ABBA 'Arrival' 40th Anniversary Releases Confirmed ! Picture Discs Plus More !!

The releases for Arrival's 40th Anniversary have been confirmed and they are fabulous !!

A limited edition 7” box set will feature the four singles from the album – the worldwide No.1 smash hit ‘Dancing Queen’, along with ‘Money, Money, Money’, ‘Knowing Me, Knowing You’ and ‘Fernando’ – all on coloured vinyl. This box will only be available through ABBA The Museum Shop and D2C shops.

‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Money, Money, Money’, ‘Knowing Me, Knowing You’ and ‘Fernando’ will be released separately as a limited-edition picture disc.
Finally, a 2LP, half-speed mastered, 45rpm cut of the original album will be released. This rare and specialised technique transforms difficult to cut high-end frequencies into relatively easy to cut mid-range frequencies. The result is a cut with excellent high frequency response and very solid and stable stereo images. In short, half-speed mastering produced a master of the highest quality that enables the pressing plant to produce a superlative record. The album reissue will include new liner notes including a brand new interview with Michael B Tretow, ABBA’s acclaimed producer and “fifth member”.


All products will be released October 7th 2016.

ABBA 'Arrival' 40th Anniversary Releases Coming Soon !

Well, it appears that 'Arrival' is going to be released on a Limited Edition 12" vinyl to celebrate the 40th Anniversary - release date is October/November at this point.

But wait, there's more ! 4 singles from the album will also be released on 7" vinyl and in their original Polar sleeves.

The Deluxe Edition of Arrival has also been re-issued in a jewel case.

The cats were initially motives on the iconic dresses worn by Agnetha Fältskog and Frida Lyngstad in 1975.

This exclusive fine art is printed with Archival FineArt Pigment print on Epson Hot Press Bright, matt cotton paper.

Each lithograph is individually numbered from 1-60 and personally signed by Owe Sandström.

The order of numbers will be according to first come first serve.
