Mamma Mia! The Party - New Restaurant Plans - Bjorn

Hit wins the Björn Ulvaeus billion empire

The successes of Björn Ulvaeus billion empire continue.

In June, his company, Pop House, Cirkus bought at Djurgården - now plans to buy this Abba member to build a house in London where "Mamma Mia the party" will be held.

"Five minutes from Waterloo station, we will build a house that will open sometime 2019. It's a great thing," says Björn Ulvaeus.

The year was 1972 when Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad started giving out their music. Two years later, the group formed the name ABBA, which became one of the world's most famous bands.

And the success of ABBA ended not only because the band was playing the tournament on the shelf - on the contrary. The musical "Mamma Mia" based on the group's songs has become a world success. Also the movie with the same name.

Soon, the second "Mamma Mia" film - a project Björn Ulvaeus will be involved in.

"I'm very involved when it comes to casting. Benny has been in the studio recently, and myself I will go to London and record. It's a kidding project, says Björn Ulvaeus.

Björn Ulvaeus involved in more "Mamma Mia" projects.

In addition to the fact that Björn Ulvaeus owns properties for almost SEK 20 million and had an acquisition income of 2.4 million in 2015, there are billions in Ulvaeus companies.

He owns 70 percent of Kopparnäset AB, which in turn has 24 companies - one of them is MM! The Party AB. And "Mamma Mia" has become a huge brand, where Björn Ulvaeus gets his delicious piece of succé cake worth a million.

"I can not say how much, but some of course comes," says Ulvaeus, and continues:

"It's exciting how the brand" Mamma Mia "has grown - with both the stage music and the movies. And now, "Mamma Mia! The Party" that goes for sold out houses in Stockholm, and I'm getting to London, says Björn Ulvaeus.

He tells us that there is currently a planning process in the South Bank of London about Mamma Mia! The Party. "

"We will build a house five minutes from Waterloo station where" Mamma Mia! The Party "opens sometime 2019. And it works that's how it works everywhere I can imagine - it's a great thing, says Björn Ulvaeus.

Ulvaeus about Circus: "Will be fun to put your teeth on"

But the former ABBA member also has big plans at home in Sweden. In June Ulvaeus bought company, Pop House, Circus on Djurgården.

"I just do the way I think it's great fun and this with Circus fits so well into Pop House, which also owns the ABBA Museum. So I'm looking forward to working with Cirkus content with other actors and that Pop House and I produce their own stuff. It will be a joke to put your teeth in it, "concludes Björn Ulvaeus.

ABBA Photographer Torbjörn Calvero Passes Away December 2016

IN MEMORIAM: TORBJÖRN CALVERO

1949 - December 10th 2016

Sweden’s true rock photographer was without a doubt Torbjörn Calvero. His photographs were never over-arranged but rather reflect private encounters with the person on the other side of his lens. Torbjörn followed ABBA through their careers.

Torbjörn Calvero was born in 1949. His career as a photographer of artists began when he was still in his teens. In 1966 he took pictures of American singer P. J. Proby – it was the first time one of his photographs was published. This encouragement of his talent made him decide on a career in photography.

Torbjörn started socialising with Swedish artists such as Tommy Körberg, later one of the stars of Björn and Benny’s musical Chess. Tommy began using Torbjörn’s pictures for publicity purposes, while Torbjörn himself gradually became all the more popular with the Swedish weeklies.

In 1970, Torbjörn Calvero began taking pictures for Swedish record sleeves; his first such assignment came in 1970. This led to a successful collaboration with the major Swedish labels, and up until the mid-Eighties he photographed some 100 album sleeves. During the second half of the 1970s he also travelled regularly to the American west coast to photograph the mega-stars of the time, such as The Eagles and Emmylou Harris. His pictures were published regularly in Swedish weeklies.

Torbjörn took his first ABBA photographs in 1974 and was especially active with the group in the years 1978 and 1979. For example, it is his picture that adorns the sleeve of the Chiquitita single.

His fabulous little book of ABBA photographs and Limited Edition signed prints can still be purchased at ABBA The Museum Webshop here:

Inventor Of ABBA Logo Passes

Rune Söderqvist, inventor of ABBA's iconic logo, passed away last week after a brief period of illness.
Rune was aged 79.

As the inventor of the timeless ABBA logo and the designer of every ABBA album sleeve 1976–1986, as well as the stage set on the group’s tours of 1979 and 1980, Rune was tremendously important for ABBA’s visual presentation.

Rune can be seen in Carl Magnus Palm's documentary 'ABBA: Absolute Image' talking about the album cover designs.

He will be sadly missed.
