New Cover For My ABBA Book

I have changed the cover for my 1977 Tour Book now to take into account that this year it is 35 years since ABBA toured here:

I have finally put together a little book about ABBA's Tour of Australia in 1977.

It's full of great photos and tour details.

It is A4 size in landscape with a hard cover and is 116 pages.

I may still do some alterations to it but am pretty happy with it so far.

A nice keepsake of their tour here :)

Agnetha Faltskog Receives Standing Ovation !

On Friday evening hailed the world's most beautiful Agnetha Fältskog on ELLE Awards when she was appointed as ELLE Fashion Legend. She received a standing ovation from the audience and backstage caught our photographer moved an Abba Queen of the picture. It was a powerful, and dignified, close to the show when Agnetha got up on stage and the evening's final prize was awarded.
The jury said:
"A brilliant superstar - one voice in a million. A fashion legend, just as stylish now as then. Thanks for all the glittering outfits. Thank you for the music. You are forever our dancing queen - Agnetha Fältskog "

The Awards Ceremony took place at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm Sweden.

New ABBA Collection Item - Picture Disc

Absolutely beautiful picture disc !

This is a Limited Edition release made for the Japanese fan club - this one is number 249 of 250.

It is unusual as it is larger than a single but smaller then an LP.

The album is called 'Super Trouper' and plays on both sides. It has 3 songs on side A and 4 songs on side B.

A really lovely rarity !

ABBA November 1975

In November 1975, 'The Best Of ABBA' was released in Australia.

This album sold over 1 million copies here - when we had a population of just over 14 million.

It stayed at number 1 on the charts for 16 weeks.

It was said that 1 in 4 households in Australia had an ABBA record - my guess is they all had this one !

New ABBA Collection Item - Concert Ticket

Fabulous ABBA concert ticket from Adelaide in Australia - 8th March 1977

I love the Aussie tickets ! They are unique in the world with the photo of ABBA on the front and printed signatures on the back ... each concert here had a different colour ticket (although Perth did seem to miss out on these lovely tickets - theirs was just a basic ticket)

These were taken on 1st October at the Awards Ceremony for the Zurich Film Festival ... obviously it was mentioned that Frida was in attendance and she was given the attention she so rightly deserves.

New ABBA Dance Game Coming In November !

Ubisoft® announced the development of a new video game based on the music and performances of Swedish supergroup ABBA. The name of the game? ABBA You Can Dance. Developed exclusively for the WiiTM system from Nintendo by Ubisoft Paris, the studio that created and defined the genre with the Just Dance® series, as well as Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Bucharest, ABBA You Can Dance will be released worldwide in November.

ABBA created music that spanned generations and has inspired millions to sing and dance. ABBA You Can Dance features 25 ABBA songs, including all of the group’s biggest hits, such as “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Take a Chance on Me” and “Waterloo.” The game’s professionally choreographed routines and unique environments were inspired by the group’s music videos and live performances.

Two players can sing along to lyrics that appear on-screen, while up to four players can simultaneously perform the dance moves. In September 1976, ABBA are in the UK filming for the 'Seaside Special' on which they performed 'Waterloo' and 'SOS' live ... fabulous performances !

In September 1976, recording for 'Arrival' is completed !

New Collection Item - ABBA The Movie

'ABBA The Movie' original cinema film reels !

A major addition to my collection are these mega rare film reels.

These are the original reels used to show the movie in a cinema in Australia - and very rare to find these days as cinemas used to destroy these films after the movie was finished it's run.

The canisters even still have the Reg Grundy stickers !
